Wedgeguard combines an interdental wedge and a thin protective shield in one piece. Placed before preparation, the shield sits against the adjacent tooth and guards it from bur damage, while the wedge opens the contact slightly.
After the preparation, the shield can be removed and the wedge left in place to adapt the matrix band for the restoration. The medium size is the everyday choice for most contacts.
